The world is devided into four kingdoms, each represented by the element they harness, and place has lasted throughout the realms of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire under the supervision of the Avatar, a link to the spirit world and the only being capable of mastering the use of all four elements.
When young Avatar Aang disappears, the Fire Nation launches an attack to eradicate all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination. 100 years pass and current Fire Lord Ozal continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental “bending” abilities into the Earth and Water Kigdoms. While siblings Katara and Sokka from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the Ice outside their village.
The Avatar returns to the world searching for excitement, adventure and a good time! New friend, celebity status, and ruthless Fire Nation on his tail…can Aang face his destiny to save the world? Katara and Sokka, a brother and sister from the Southern Water Tribe, discover a twelve-year-old boy frozen in an iceberg. Could this be Avatar the world has been waiting for? Prince Zuko, a young Firebender whose mission in life is to capture the Avatar, tracks Aang to the Southern Water Tribe village where Katara and Sokka live. Aang is eager to take Sokka and Katara to Air Temple where he was raised, but discovers then temple is not as he remember it. When locals of small island dicover Aang is the Avatar, they treat him like a celebrity, which ultimately leads to trouble!
Aang and his friends continue their quest to the Northern Water Tribe, visiting various Earth Nation cities. They soon learn that Aang must master all bending element before the summer, when a comet will arrive that could empower the fire Nation making them virtually unstoppable. Aang, Katara, and Sokka are brought before a crazy old king, who seems to enjoy messing with the kids heads. Katara attempts to inspire the oppressed people of an Earth Nation city, occupied by the Fire Nation.
Aang, Katara, and Sokka arrive at a town being terrorizewd by a mysterious force from the spirit world! During the winter solstice, Aang must reach Fire Nation temple while dodging Prince Zuko, Commander Zhao, and the Fire Sages who guard it. Pirates, rebels, the Fire Nation, and feuding tribes contribute to the greater responsibility Aang faces as the Avatar. Burdened and guilt-ridden because of his previous disappearance, we hear the suprising story of Aang’s past paralleled with Prince Zuko’s. finally arriving at their destination of the Northern Water Tribe, Aang must master Waterbending, and together with his friends, defend the city from Admiral Zhao’s greatest attack yet!***
